Busy day today!
Alright, so it’s 5:30pm on a Friday, and I’m about to jump in the shower to get ready for a friend’s holiday party. Just wanted to give an update on what I managed to get done today after work:
Earlier this week, I set up time with a friend who’s a full-stack developer. I wanted to meet with him because I’ve been working on posting the developer brief to UpWork.com. The goal is to figure out a timeline and approximate cost for building this app. We met at a coffee shop, but this felt more official—so I came prepared. I printed out my 32-page deck and the developer brief. I walked him through what I’m trying to do, showed him the clickable prototype on my phone via Figma, and handed him the brief to redline. Grateful for his expertise—he pointed out a lot of things I hadn’t even considered (because, well, I’m not a developer). It was super productive. When I got home, I revamped the brief based on his feedback and sent it to another friend for a once-over before posting. The plan is to post it tomorrow after I get back from Vail—fitting, right?
A couple of weeks ago, I met an IP attorney and entrepreneur supporter at an event hosted by another friend (who I need to reconnect with next week). Today, I messaged the attorney to see if I can get on his calendar next week because I have questions! This idea definitely needs to be protected, and if I can get some pro-bono advice, I’m all in.
There’s a key revenue stream idea that came up earlier this week when I was chatting with a CEO at a networking event (not the holiday party, the one the night before). I’ve been brainstorming who to ask about this, and then—randomly—I saw something on Instagram that reminded me of someone in my network who’s the perfect person to vet this idea with. So, I texted him, and we’re planning to chat next week.
And that’s it for now! I need to hop in the shower and head to this holiday party, but I’ve got a game plan: share the survey with 5 people, show the prototype to at least 3, and, of course, have fun! But honestly…this IS fun for me.
Adios!
