2:37 AM: Momentum Doesn’t Stop, and Neither Do I
It’s 2:37 AM on Tuesday, December 17th. I just spent six hours on financial models, and I’m completely exhausted. But sleep? Not yet. I’ve got momentum, and there’s no way I’m letting it slow down—not until this post is out of my head.
Let’s start with something exciting: I went skiing this weekend—for the first time since March 2023. It was the perfect bluebird day. Two friends and I headed to Vail, skied a bit, grabbed lunch at The 10th (mid-mountain, highly recommend), and wrapped it up with après-ski at the Vail Chophouse (also a solid recommendation). It was good to be back on the slopes.
After Vail, I rushed home for a birthday party. Sure, I wanted to celebrate my friend, but there was another goal: meeting one of his friends who’s a product designer. I needed that connection, and I’ll be reaching out to him in the next few days.
Now, let’s talk about yesterday. Or… what was yesterday? The days are blurring together. Oh wait—Sunday. I stayed home. Ha! I definitely worked on things, but don’t ask me to recall specifics.
Today (well, technically Monday) was a bit more focused. I grabbed coffee with a contact I made a while back. The conversation was great, and during my Uber ride home, I jumped into some immediate action items (more on that soon).
Back at home, it was back to those financial models I mentioned earlier. Six hours later—done. Sent those off to a friend I’m meeting for dinner Wednesday. Oh, and in between? I fielded responses from developers who’d seen the RFP I posted.
Looking ahead, tomorrow (Tuesday) is shaping up to be productive. First, I’m catching up with someone I’ve known since 2011. I need to pick his brain—he’s got deep knowledge in a space that’s relevant right now. After that, it’s off to an alumni holiday party for my grad school. I’m excited to network and fingers crossed maybe find a lead on a technical co-founder.
Wednesday? Another big day. I’m meeting a buddy who knows a ton about a different industry and platforms that could help with monetization. Then later, I’ve got dinner with a friend who’s pushing me to think about the things I’ve been avoiding (like these financial models).
And on Thursday, I’m meeting with a developer who might be interested in collaborating. I’m approaching it casually—if it works out, it works out. No stress. I’ve seen enough people go through this to know things come together when they’re supposed to.
As for Friday, nothing’s on the calendar yet—but I’m sure that’ll change.
And now, I can finally go to sleep. Whew. ::wipes brow::
